Experimenting with oil and Photoshop. Base is an older oil painting (Martyrdom). Added paint, colours and textures in Photoshop. Renamed it.

The depth of emotion in this painting, is so beautifully subtle. There are no tears...but the woman has such a poignant melancholy. The shading on her eyelids, cheeks and neck gives us a true sense of the depth of despair within this martyr. It conveys both her strength and vulnerability brilliantly. The warm gold tones around her face show us her beauty and inner goodness and the well-placed darker colors are used to frame her majestically...Of course the title is also very clever.
